What if a choir actually reflected the communities it serves?
Those of us lucky enough to call Baltimore home know it's a vibrant and creatively rich city. Its neighborhoods are shaped by a blend of cultures, traditions, and voices that make our arts community unique. Yet our choral landscape fails to fully reflect the people who call this city home.
Songbird Vocal Arts, Baltimore Vocal Village's semi-professional vocal ensemble, was founded on the belief that choral music should celebrate the full breadth of the communities it serves.
We present carefully curated programs that extend beyond the traditional choral repertiore, with a particular emphasis on composers and artists of color, amplifying diverse voices and celebrate stories that deserve to be heard.
Our concerts are a multi-disciplinary fusion of poetry, storytelling, R&B, pop, gospel, jazz, hip-hop, right alongside traditional choral music.
